In Response To: Evil Volunteers: Mangle Him Really (Mark Levin) : Evil is one of the only two scenarios I'm aware of (the other is the MI
That's something I noticed right away. It's not a big movie, just a subtle effect of Evil coming into focus, but the effect definitely sets the mood for the scenario. : Here, it was probably done to cement Evil's position as the greatest
I hope you mean the greatest 3rd party scenario, as I think we could argue for weeks on whether it's in the same category as the original Marathon trilogy. : The Evil story gets off to a running start, which is understandable as it's
I played Evil first, too, as I suspect most of us here did. Evil received a lot of hype - it got everyone's attention. : The level design is very nice, done by FM himself in the Pfhor texture set.
It's a modified Pfhor texture set - the door style is new and there are some other subtle differences. The question to me is why the UESC would use a Pfhor design for their own ships. The realtiy is that creating a new texture design would have meant a lot of work for something that would only be used on one level, but that's the difference between a good and a great scenario. I'm learning to be a bit less altruistic and desided to take the hint from the level title this time, knowing just how lean ammo will be in the next level, when you really need it. You're allowed to kill up to 2 bobs without consequences. That's two more rounds of magnum ammo that you can really use. Don't bother killing the fusion bobs - they don't drop any ammo. If you think you can get away with killing everyone and make your escape without taking significant damage, good luck. Otherwise, you can pick up an additional two rounds of magnum ammo by killing two more bobs before they transport out. |
