In Response To: Re: Reverse engineer the data files (treellama)

: Curiously, Forge+ is GPL, as it uses some of Weland's source code, but it
: uses Unity. I wonder how it gets away with that.

: Can you give more details about your project and why GPL won't work for it?

My project uses mathematical planes in frustums that clip polygons to test for the visibility of sectors.

Sectors are groups of polygons that make a convex polyhedron.

Planes clip the sectors to the opening of a portal and portals draw sectors.

I thought about making a proof of concept without any GPL code using a MIT license.

The portal rendering is all 3D.

It's been asked on the internet and Unity forums if Unity is compatible with GPL code.

I was told a open source GPL license is not compatible with Unity because Unity is closed source.

MIT license can be open source without needing to give the source code for the Unity game engine.

I can't open source the parts of my code that use Unity with a GPL license.
