: Thanks, I forgot about that one.
: That said, what about both? The hard stuff rules is simple enough without the
: map though it's impossible to read the map. Aye Mak Sicur gives me trouble
: navigating every time.
“The Hard Stuff Rules” has a ton of overlapping sections, but its mission is straightforward and linear – the map is basically superfluous. “Aye Mak Sicur”’s layout might take a long time to learn, but I’ve played it enough times to be able to navigate it pretty easily – the asymmetry helps.
The most confusing overhead map layouts in the trilogy, IMO, are “Confound Delivery” and “By Committee”, with “A Converted Church in Venice, Italy” perhaps coming in for an honourable mention.
If you really want confusing overhead map layouts, though, the trilogy has nothing on fan scenarios. The likes of “Enchanting New Mexico”, “Hex Level 73”, and “Killing the Giants as They Sleep” (sorry – though in my defence, if you do the upper deck first, this one also might wind up less confusing than you’d expect it to be) dwarf anything you’ll find in the trilogy.
