In Response To: Durandal's voice (Tim "Mordeir" Branin)

: What voice plays in your head when you read Durandal's text? Like if you were
: directing a remake of Marathon with a voiceover cast, who would you cast
: as Durandal, and what sort of directions would you give them?

Well, Quake Champions: Doom Edition has what I consider a very good take on Durandal's voice, so that's my baseline.

My ideal direction "stoic, reserved, and quiet, in large part because he's actively doubling down on emotional control, but is capable of opening up to the Security Officer". At least for M2 and Infinity; M1-era Durandal would sound every bit like the uncontrollable ball of rage he was in the Anger stage, and somewhat calmer but far from 100% stable in the Jealous stage. (My own take on Durandal also harbours a lot of guilt over his actions in M1 and their unintended consequences, which is part of why he's more subdued)
