Is it odd that I never really assigned a voice to any of the AIs’ words? I just read them as text on a computer screen.

If I had to assign any voice throughout history to Durandal, though, it might be Douglas Rain’s creepy monotone from 2001: A Space Odyssey. I actually find it pretty amusing to imagine Durandal’s dry sarcasm being read in that voice:

Two hundred years ago, during the Marathon’s maiden voyage from Earth to Tau Ceti, Tycho accused me of being too sarcastic. I didn’t communicate with him for six years after that, which left him with only Leela to talk to. I think he still holds the grudge. You don’t think I’m sarcastic, do you?

Never mind.
