Allegory to the battle of Marathon
Posted By: VikingBoyBillyDate: 1/15/17 8:01 a.m.

The titular ship is named, not for it's long journey to Tau Ceti, but, surprise surprise, after a city where a historical battle of Greeks fighting off the invading Persians took place.

I think the pfhor are meant to represent Persians who were expanding their empire through conquest, and Alexander the Great is represented by either the player or Durandal.

I think L'howon is meant to be Egypt, as the Persians had conquered Egypt and held the throne During that time period until they were deposed by Alexander the Great, after which he was appointed as Pharoah by Amun-Ra. This might sound like a farfetch'd tie-in at first, but the connection becomes closer when you consider than Lh'owon has an AI named Thoth, the Egyptian God of Wisdom.

What happens next?
