It depends on how quickly you make it down to the lowest level. On my recent playthrough, I got to OWEWS on tuesday evening, which is respectable imo (especially since I hadn't played in years). I haven't tried it out, but I'm sure that would leave enough time to escape in spite of all the rest breaks. Like I said, you can generate as many alien gemstones as you want, and probably break $2million if you wanted to. The treasure bonus would easily offset the time penalty (since time points are based on 10 hour increments).

A couple other things:

on the Sentinels page, where my quote says: 'the time you mean the Sentinels.'
can you change that to 'meet the Sentinels.'? that was a silly typo on my part.

Since I'm analyzing everything, I'd also like to contribute my opinion of the mysterious blue/yellow crystal found in the demo shapes. I think that originally, the blue/yellow crystal was the only crystal, and it was used for both talking to the dead and freezing monsters. Then they overhauled this in favor of multiple crystals. This also helps explain why there's an entire level built around the yellow crystal while the others are found along the way.
