So, the effect is more or less like having multiple light switches linked to a single light fixture.
My house has one (Well, actually, two. But both can be operated by either switch). The lights will toggle on or off no matter which way the switch is flipped; it just depends on whether the lights were on or off when you started, and on which function you'd like to stop. I'm no electrician, so maybe I have it wrong anyway. :P
