Durandal's Motives

I know I've probably irritated you all by posting one crazy theory after another and taking over the conversation, but I have one final theory to propose before I stop talking.
On the Final Screen of Marathon Infinity we read:
Once I thought to escape.
To end the end a master, step out of the
path of collapse. Escape would make us god.
First off, let's identify who this is. The green text, the complex, perhaps even metaphorical way of speaking, and the wish to escape the collapse. It's gotta be Durandal. Now, remember that at this stage, Durandal is actually part of a hybrid AI.
Now let's do a phrase-by-phrase analysis of the penultimate sentence from earlier:
To end the end a master,
If you've listened to Winston Churchill's Dunkirk speech, I believe he says something like "This is not the end, this is not even the beginning of the end, but rather the end of the beginning." So "To end the end a master" would mean something like "To finish it all as a master." Not very interesting.
...step out of the path of collapse.
This phrase is what's interesting. When I say "to step out of the path of a moving train", I'm not stopping the train from moving, I'm merely stepping aside to avoid being damaged by the event. So if I say "step out of the path of collapse", I'm not saying that I will stop the collapse, merely that I won't be in it. So we know that Durandal was never trying to stop the universe from collapsing; he just didn't to be in it when it finally did collapse.
How would he "step out of the path of collapse"? By escaping the universe as we know it. How? By going to another universe. Corey Halpin suggested on Durandal - Part 2 that Durandal would warp a bunch of planets and stars into formation around a Black Hole via the means of Jjaro technology. The Black Hole would then create a "Baby Universe". I believe that Durandal would, via some sort of rift or teleportation technology, move himself and perhaps even Earth, Lh'owon, etc. into the other Universe, thereby "stepping out of the path of collapse."
P.S. You'll see this theory play a major role in Marathon - Ex Pluribus. ;)
