: Loath as I am to contribute to the activity of the Mararthon community ---
: worse, by posting "sightings" --- I just noticed this evening
: that the eye from the opening of Where Giants Have Fallen
:
: looks a lot like the intro to Blade Runner .

: Certainly this is known to experts and probably has even been pointed out
: before, but a quick Google search doesn't turn up a discussion. Hm!

Always good to have people contribute to the Marathon community. It's not like there are many of us around these days. ;-)

But you got it in one. Blade Runner eye animation courtesy of Mr. Smith (aka poenadare). One of my all time favourite films and the cryptic Marathon line "The fire in his eyes had become a cold wind, he blinked away tears." just evokes Blade Runner imagery. Think Roy Batty's soliloquy... "I've seen things..."
So famous now that if you types those few words in Google it comes up Blade Runner.

Where Giants... is the musings of two old Marathon geezers nothing more. Don't read too much into any of it. Not if you want to stay sane. ;-)

Cheers
Hamish
