Marathon Infinity's story

In Marathon infinity, why is it that at the beggining, it's as if some events from M2 didn't happen? Durandal left a message that said that we should have searched the ruins of Lh,owon even though we did? Also he says Tycho's ship is nearby. But Tycho died in Marathon 2! So what happened?
Did the Wrcacnter somehow change events? What happened?
