All I remember is that a long, long, long time ago there was a shareware utility on OS 9 called Game Doctor (or was it The Codebook?) which actually copied and patched the original M2 application file to let you do just that. All you needed to do was fire up the hacked app and press Cmd-S whenever you felt like it. I think it also did the same for M1 as well. Pretty nifty. It also "hacked" Myth by patching the app to give you invincible units, too.
