In Response To: Aleph One issue - resolved (C Lund)

: A couple of weeks ago, I complained about the newest build of Aleph One
: dropping to single digit frames in some areas - usually but not always in
: places with long views.

: The solution was simple: Go to the advanced OGL settings and set the
: landscape quality to half (apparently I've got a mac with low VRAM). The
: framerate now seems to be nailed at 30.

Good to hear it was worth restoring / simplifying those advanced settings! Still doesn't explain why the new build slows down, when old ones didn't, though.

If you DXTC compress your wall textures, you may save enough VRAM to turn the landscapes back up :)
