: And once again I have to raise the issue of requiring registration. The
: spammers target us because we're an open forum. Sure, it's easy enough to
: register, but just as the auto thief passes on the car with a club on the
: steering wheel to go for the easier target, spammers will likely leave us
: alone if we require them to register before posting. Why is it that the
: admins are so opposed to requiring registration? It's simple and quick and
: makes it harder for the spam bots to attack us.
I think part of this forums appeal is its openess; If I'm surfing around and find a disscussion board about something that may be intersting, and feel that I may be able to contribute to a thread or two, and then find out that I need to register, its about 50-50 if I do register or not. Part of the reason that we get some great knew members is the lack of a registration, IMO.
