What exactly is the Demon in PiD? It's defenseless once you kill the monsters, and drops the Alien Gemstone that lets you open the exit. Which also makes me wonder how the germans knew the Alien Gemstone would open an exit. If someone came in to the pyramid and scouted it before the Dreaming God began to awaken, they still would have had to have used the gemstone to know its effects, right? That means they would have gotten it from the Demon... which makes me wonder, how did the Demon get it back? If it was used, who would take it all the way back down and say: "Oh thanks for letting me borrow this."?
Is the Demon itself just a dream of the Dreaming God that is meant to protect the gemstone in hopes of trapping any individual who enters the pyramid? Did someone take it at first and die of the gem's effects after opening the exit? So many questions... but so few answers.
