In Response To: Re: running marathon full screen (blake37)

: well, I had this problem too, and I have no idea what I did or if anything I
: did fixed it, but fullscreen always sucks for me, when I read terminals
: they snhow up in a window and the rest of the screen flashes, and stuff
: like that. I am also on xp, so you'll probaly have similer results as I
: did. My advice is to let it open in a window and set the resolution as
: high as your screen will fit.

All that full screen mode does is to switch the resolution of the desktop to match that of the game. Some software just doesn't like having the screen resolution changed in midstream. XP certainly supports this, but there may be other software you have installed that expects the resolution to be fixed. Even on my Macs, the placement of windows and desktop icons gets screwed up. Your best bet in general is to uncheck the full screen checkbox and adjust AO's resolution setting to the maximum value that will fit inside your usual desktop resolution.
