Interesting idea, but I don't think so. Remember that Marathon and PID are basically in the same universe (the presence if Jjaro in both of them). The "sleeping god" in PID is thought to be a W'rkncacnter, and if he wakes up "... you're toast, and so is the rest of the planet." Gravemind in Halo 2 seems to be quite awake.
But it is interesting in the way that the Flood sure seems like the kind of monsters that a dreaming god would create.
