Marathon in Halo2 (Spoiler)

I don't know if anyone else here caught it but at the very end of the game when we actually see Halo fireing there is a beam which emenates from the bottom of the ring while there is a bright light in the very cener. The effect generates a very obvious Marathon Symbol.

Also the switch between characters and sides to me seemed very remanicent of Marathon Infinity. Likewise the general shift of attention towards the Aliens rather than the humans seemed similar to infinity.
