In Response To: Re: The impertinance of Youth (Vid Boi)

: If it's any consolation to you, your post put a smile on my face. Although I
: disagree completely with the point you were making, it was a well written
: post =)
Thanks, I myself was surprised at how I was able to formulate such a well organized and yet utterly bogus argument.
: The thing about Halo is that while it has a pretty complex story, it's not
: like Marathon's story - a bunch of threads that stretch out in all
: directions and some go into concrete blocks that you have to attach with a
: pick-axe to follow them. Instead, the Halo story is a nice, neat, round
: ball of yarn that looks like you get everything right there...until you
: actually start following one of the threads, which is when you find out
: that they too lead into concrete walls.

: Presumably Halo was designed that way intentionally, so that it would appeal
: to a broader audience - many gamers of today are of the opinion that a
: game which requires pen & paper, especially an action game, is a dull
: game (which the opposite is actually the Truth) and at the same time there
: had to be a huge story somewhere for those of us who came from PiD and
: Marathon, and for those who like complex games. And probably because
: Bungie seem to like thinking up vast backstories =)

: And on topic: everyone has a forum post they regret =P

Yeah, I'm actually pretty glad in retrospect that the Halo story was not much worth making a religion out of. My social life is nearly comatose as it is without haveing to ponder the greater implictions of what Foe Hammer might have mean by saying "We deliver", or who actually got called back for the PoA's planned performance of "South Pacific".
I should probably double check the other Post I made in hear that Miguel was Alluding to.

And if anyone else has some regretful posts they'd like to share from this or any other forums, feel free to post them in this thread so that the Healing may begin.
