Q' regarding timing of M:Inf's endscreen
Posted By: ErnieDate: 7/23/04 1:29 p.m.

A question of clarification:

When do *you*, story forum patron, believe the Marathon:Infinity end screen take place?

Perhaps a few minuets (or seconds) after the last level of Infinity?
or
Is the player simply viewing Durandal's final thoughts / realizations at the end of time from that moment on the Jjaro space station?

This brings up the question:

Does the Marine and the Durandal/Toth snap their fingers at M:Inf's end and become gods?

Or does the time line continue with the marine and Durandal (hybrid or otherwise) doing "things" (perhaps fufilling the events of the M2 endscreen) until the end of time?
We, the player of Bungie's game, are viewing what happens at time's end - an excellent method of closing the Marathon Trilogy while keeping it open for the community to write what happens between Marathon: Infinity’s last level - and the end of time. A fairly broad canvass to work with, eh?

Obviously, I lean towards this explanation... if an certain AI and cyborg's mass disappear from the universe suddenly it would be violating certain laws of physics, right Steve?

I’m still open to other explanations and ideas. Post away people! : )

Thanks again everyone,
-Blayne [ernie]
