In Response To: 3d modeling programs (Alexander Smith)

: Does anyone know what 3d modeling program Ian Mconville used to make his guns
: and monsters? I am working on a marathon project myself and I would really
: like to know. I have Strata3D plus with some plugins but I would like
: something better. If I get something else than It has to be under 120
: dollers and compatible with my Rev-C iMac.

: Thanks!

Ian uses Maya. I doubt most of what we see in RED is 3D art, though. Maya is a very cool app, but a little complicated. It has some heavy requirements, (including MacOS 10+ iirc), I'm not sure if your computer (266 mhz, 32 SDRAM?) meets them. It might run a bit choppy/not at all. Then again, I haven't tried running Maya on my mac, I have an iMac DV SE myself. I use Cinema 4D and 3D studio max, I'm ashamed to say it but I've moved on to my cheap and powerful PC... but only until I can afford a new Mac ofcourse!
