In Response To: Lava in the Marathon (Irritated)

: I was thinking that the lava that seemed so ubiquitous in some levels of
: Marathon 1 wasn't really lava at all. Many astronomers believe that Deimos
: was just a large asteroid that got pulled into Mars' orbit. Either way,
: Deimos is pretty much solid rock, and would have no lava. Since this is
: the case, I can't think of any good reason for the UESC to pump the
: Marathon full of lava (though maybe this was done by the same UESC
: engineer who came up with the rising platforms in Colony Ship For
: Sale...).

I guess the UESC engineers didn't design the Marathon thinking that someone might have to use those things as stairs if an evil alien slave race suddenly attempted a hostile takeover of the ship =P
