Well, lemme see... If you give Elliot a running punch he will fold like a gut shot Grendel. Seriously though, you have the basics of it now. Fine tuning it would consist of things like thinking to backtrack to look what you have done if you don't see the results of activating a switch. Sometimes you open an area that was not accessible the first time you walked by it ... like the problem it appears you had in "Couch Fishing"

Sometimes just walking over a section of floor activates things. A door, aliens, a light. Try to keep your senses about you and notice changes in your environment.

Read ALL the comm terminals very carefully looking for clues and hints. Many times you will be lost because you didn't bother to read a comm term. Besides, comm terms tell the story, it's half the game.

Sometimes sounds are meant to give clues. If you hear a platform activate, go look for it. If you hear a sound behind a wall, maybe something is behind the wall.

If new aliens attack you when you think you have cleared an area, maybe a new opening has appeared.

Use your head, think it through. The best weapon in Marathon is your mind.
