I think this is the first post I've seen here that is this long yet still has LESS punctuation in the body of text than in the title. Kudos.
Assuming somebody doesn't get a free or used copy of the books, at the most a new paperback is gonna cost, what, $6.99 USD? That's not bad for a few hours of entertainment, even if its just mediocre.
Besides, the reviews of the books have been pretty positive, especially those coming from the fans, and that's what's important to know, right? Perhaps a discerning man of letters such as yourself may, in the future, not expect a paperback based on a video game to be the calibre of Dickens or Joyce, and thus rate it more fairly...
