I don't see any implication at all. The Covenant did find something horrible buried in the ring, and now they are afraid. Why? Because they know the sheer potential for destruction inherent in the Flood. Besides: "'Do you think we'd really wipe out the Flood?' Jones asks. 'The Covenant have a long history with them'" (EGM Halo 2 preview). Well, I have a copy, but I don't know how much it would help you. It's got some interesting tidbits, but it's certainly no magic wand which can unlock all the secrets to the Halo story. | |
