Et tu, Brute?

Was just thinking about the new enemy in Halo 2, the Brute. I'm going by memory here (since I didn't save those pictures), but didn't the picture of the Brute have a gun in his/its left hand? If I remember right the gun also seemed to have what looked to me to be a blade towards the rear of the gun. That got me thinking that the Brute is probally gonna be one badass motha...shut your mouth...I'm just talking bout Brute. Sorry bout that last part, as I was saying: I was thinking maybe the Brute is gonan be like a combo Hunter/Gold Elite. The power and shooting (don't know what it shoots) capabilites of a Hunte combined with the speed/agility and the blade (sorta) of a Gold Elite. I mean think about that, thats pretty scary. Of course my whole theory goes out the window if my memory was wrong and there is no blade. Anyways, a group of Brutes jumping and howling as they swarm you...Planet of the Apes anyone? :)
