In Response To: Re: Halo Bulletin (With SPOPS summary) *SP* (Louis Wu) : Interesting. I guess I agree with this, in principle... but my takeaway from : the Wired article was quite different. Rather than seeing this rewrite as : being 'flexible', I wondered about the overall vision of the author; if : you write a piece to have feeling or meaning or emotion or whatever, and : then after the builders get finished with the gameplay piece that doesn't : fit with your original content, you go back and rewrite the entire thing, : using that gameplay as your BASE... what happened to your original vision? Well I'd say whatever changes, if made, being entirely up to the creator, really depend on the creator's original vision anyway. All I'm saying is the mechanic of shorter-period productions allows for alteration to whatever degree is feasible, by the creators, if they so wish, which may or may not take into account their audience reactions of past-productions. They don't have to, of course, and if they do, the fact they're making alterations may or may not be a part of their original vision. At the most basic level, it's just that the mechanic allows for that flexibility. Creators don't have to be that flexible if they don't want :)
