In Response To: Re: Halo Bulletin (With SPOPS summary) *SP* (thebruce0) : Yeah for sure... I think it's dangerous to create one element of an entire : creative production to be completely static and finalized; take some : flexibility into the equation so that as other aspects are developed, they : can bounce off each other and improve the whole. Almost like each element : of a story is a person working in a team; let them brainstorm, become more : than just the sum of its parts. Interesting. I guess I agree with this, in principle... but my takeaway from the Wired article was quite different. Rather than seeing this rewrite as being 'flexible', I wondered about the overall vision of the author; if you write a piece to have feeling or meaning or emotion or whatever, and then after the builders get finished with the gameplay piece that doesn't fit with your original content, you go back and rewrite the entire thing, using that gameplay as your BASE... what happened to your original vision?
