With the stories that 343i has released so far I really don't understand why people are still worried that they would just throw the Chief out there with a crappy explanation as to how he got the new armor or that he'll magically have the new armor right at the start of the game. They aren't a bunch of amateurs nor are they stupid. I'd be willing to bet that at the start of Halo 4 the Chief will exit the cryo pod wearing the same armor he went in with, some stuff will happen and then his armor will get upgraded (I'm thinking either Forerunner machines do it or humans responding to FUD's distress beacon bring an upgraded suit).

I don't quite understand this either. It's still obviously the Chief, it's still iconic and recognizable. And it's not graphical enhancements or changes purely for the hell of it, it's a new suit. It's supposed to be different. I can understand someone not liking the new iteration, but don't really see how it's not recognizably Mjolnir armor.
