: I think your piece is interesting, but as pointed out, comparing a game to : other works is a dangerous road. Cortana exists not because Bungie wanted : to point out the folly of man but because they needed a plot dump and : constant objective updater for the player character. One of the central points was that AI puppetmaster characters are popular in games because they fulfill a gameplay function like this. The narrative themes fall out of this.
