Does the divine intervene on behalf of an AI? Is destiny applicable to lines of code? Does any of that matter? I was a little taken aback by the suggestion that the Chief was obsolete. Logical conclusion, but emotionally repulsive. As humans, we like to believe that we bring something subtle, intangible to the universe. But maybe we are just fooling ourselves. How will recognizing our own obsolesence affect our psyche? Interesting read, indeed.
