I think the name in the files, the name in the credits, and the fact that he has more scripted lines-- as opposed to combat dialogue-- than anyone else that isn't obviously a main character, and possibly just as much as Foehammer, taken together, indicate to me he was a character, if only a minor one, and... I'm not sure where I'm going with this, and I'm probably not going to convince anyone here, so that's it I guess.
