Re: My Comprehensive-ish Argument With Narcogen

: Marathon: Infinity was developed by Double Aught, not Bungie. Double Aught
: had some important Bungie alums there, of course, but the game was not
: developed by Bungie; they published it, as they published other titles
: they did not develop, some of which used the Marathon and Myth engines and
: some (like Abuse) which did not.

: Now I'm going to regret not checking the other replies to this first because
: seeing Wu's name in the thread means he's most assuredly beat me to this.

I did - but Cody pointed out that Bungie helped with the netmaps, and in fact had employees that worked fulltime on the game, or components of the game (Alex Rosenberg and Jason Regier come to mind, but there were others).

Double Aught was responsible for the campaign - which was the bulk of the release, but not its entirety.

It's not quite as cut-and-dried as, say, Myth III, which was not only DEVELOPED by an outside company, it was PUBLISHED by an outside company.

(That said, I'd STILL agree that Bungie was known for not doing more than two games in a series before Halo, and even with Halo had had the INTENTION of just two. :) )
