I see where Narc is coming from on this because, after all, Halo was never intended to be a trilogy. It is a complete story--perhaps part of a larger story, but it did not require continuation or conclusion outside of itself. I personally think that some of the issues people have with what the Halo universe has become is due to the need to expand something that wasn't necessarily made to be expanded upon. If Bungie had the entire Halo series planned out from the beginning, retcons wouldn't happen. New Mombasa wouldn't have been redesigned, for example, because Bungie would have been planning ODST. That's why I cut the Halo universe some slack (although I haven't been following the new novels/comics/Legends, etc), and why I look forward to Bungie's next project because they're planning it to be a big universe from the get-go, so hopefully these issues won't come up (as often, I guess--being realistic).
