Pretty much sums up my feelings on this particular discussion. Like Archilen said on Wednesday, many of us, myself included, feel cheated when something that has been regarded as canon for nearly a decade is suddenly and for no good reason rendered Discontinuity. Reach is so incongruous with the novels — and, indeed, with the rest of the franchise as a whole — that it just feels like an apocryphal story, and as far as I'm concerned, it is.
