Anyways, I'm in the "Retcons bother me"-camp as well. A lot of the arguments from the 'other side' seem to say "It's OK to change stuff to make a better story", but that's a fundamentally wrong opinion imo. If you're telling a story in an already established universe, which has lots of details and backstory already worked out, you should tell your story in the confines of what's already been established, even if it may be 'harder'. There were plenty of opportunities to tell an interesting story while remaining consistent with previous choices made. Oh well, I've said all this before, if I carry on I'll start sounding like a broken record. I'll see if 343 can sort this mess out with their 'Ghosts of Onyx'-sequel.
