Yes, as a : detective story, it's pretty crap. : We don't take Bungie's pronouncements on their own works as gospel when they : contradict our own interpretations-- why should we cleave to them when : they're obviously as off-base as the mention of noir was? Either way you're in trouble here. If it was never supposed to be noir or a detective story, then Staten is an idiot who doesn't know what they were really trying to accomplish. If it WAS supposed to be a noir detective story, then Bungie is bad at making noir detective stories. Either way it doesn't look good.
