: I'm that way about RTSs. As rabid a Halo fan as I am I still haven't finished : the Halo Wars campaign. Why? The story's interesting. RTSs suck. In my : opinion of course. I tend to agree with you, but not completely. There is something fanciful and promising about RTS's that I think developers haven't tapped into yet. I've always liked the idea of commanding armies of all these cool units and vehicles, but then when the action happens, I want to be in it FPS style. How about this for a proposition. If Halo were ever to become (or have) a class based element to it, there could be a class, in certain gametypes, called commander. The Commander would be responsible for changing preferred spawn zones, if those areas were overrun and have a top down view and intel of the battlefield as it's going on. He could authorize MAC rounds to be used, choose the units that would get deployed and where (Invasion slayer style spawning.), and basically set up the encounters to serve the team best. If the commander wanted to air it out, everybody would get hornets and falcons (barring resource restrictions.) Idk just a crazy idea I guess :P Lots of SW:Battlefront influence in the above idea.
