And cue =D That IL-76 is actually only about 35% larger than a Pelican, which itself is certainly a lot bigger than most aircraft used for the role today, with the exception of a handfull of 'super' water bombers. Given that its a military base, I'd still expect it to be a military Pelican, even if its serving in an firefighting role. Most forces have their own firefighting services. Could be some bright red civil firefighting Pelicans out there too though!
