General Battuta would be proud *IMGs* | |

I was playing Reach today, and encountered a funny glitch (unrendered)* I'm sure a lot you encountered before. However, when viewing the incident through Theater mode, I noticed things were more than met the eye. I added two and two together... And came up with a Christmas story of betrayal, seduction and badassery, spanning no less than 21 images. Merry Christmas, HBO. WARNING: this story will forever ruin your view upon the noble SPARTANs of Noble Team. It turns them into real persons, with dreams, hopes and fears. You all wanted a more human Noble Team, but this is more than you bargained for. A Christmas Betrayal
'Twas the day of Christmas. A day of joy, laughter, and good times. But not for Kat. See, Kat had been reading General Battuta's rewrites of Reach's script, and realized the man was right. She didn't need Carter to get the job done. In fact, she was sure she could do a better job than him. She would get rid of Carter, save Reach, and be worshipped for qualities other than her firm buttocks, which to her dismay, were popping up on File Shares everywhere. The mission started off innocently enough. Noble Team touched down, and Carter immediately went to work. Kat watched him in silence, biding her time. Soon, she thought to herself. Soon. As Noble Team combed the ruined landscape of Reach, Carter was overcome with holiday joy at the sight of a burning Warthog. He ordered the team to halt, and bond around the fire. Kat realized she couldn't get rid of Carter alone, she would need allies. While Carter was preoccupied, she inscribed a message upon a beacon she found, and threw it to Emile. "Emile,
Carter's bringing us down. I'm convinced I can do a better job than him.
But if you and I band together, we'll be stronger. I'll be able to taker over,
- Kat" Emile found himself torn. He'd always felt different, separated from his fellow Spartan-III's.
He had never really liked blood. He just wanted to look tough to impress girls. But if he followed Kat, there'd be no more need for this charade... That, and he'd have an excellent view. It was an offer he couldn't refuse. Shortly therafter, Carter ordered Kat and Emile to the Relay Outpost near Visegrad. He, Six and Jorge would stay behind to finish off the Covenant, and then hitch a ride on a Falcon. Kat saw her chance, and she took it. She bribed the Falcon pilot. Six, Jorge and Carter made their way through the valleys, spreading holiday cheer in the form of bullets to the face wherever they went. Six learned quickly that drinking and driving was never a good combination. A wise lesson learned, and not just for him. And then came the time of the pickup. The Falcons came down, like Santa's sleigh of old. Six and Jorge had just climbed aboard, when Kat's plan was finally set into motion. The Falcon took off, leaving Carter bewildered and distressed. Six, Jorge and Jun, unsure what just had happened, stared at each other uncomfortably. Carter found himself surrounded by the ghosts of Christmas battles past. Distraught, Carter sat down on the bottom of the river, trying to contact his squad. His attempts, however, proved to be in vain... Because back at Visegrad, Kat blocked his signal, with Emile covering her. The double entendre surrounding the situation could not have been greater. Kat ordered him to attack the enemy, so he rushed forward... But without Carter's guidance, quickly found himself overwhelmed. Kat ordered Jorge and Six into the relay station, where she hoped to disable the comm relay, effectively stopping the spread of any and all holiday cheer. Soon, however, the team found themselves under attack by the Covenant, who sadly, just did not care about Christmas at all. Kat's leadership seemed to be coming to a sudden end. Unbeknownst to Kat, however, the spirits of Christmas had saved Carter from the void of the Loading Zones, and brought him to Visegrad as well. Unwavering, the servant of Christmas stepped in front of the enemy, and opened fire. He tackled Kat out of the way: he may have been an advocate of holiday cheer, but he wanted to deal with her mutinous ass himself. To Carter, however, this meant something vastly different than what Emile had in mind. Carter ordered Six and Jorge forward, to bring Christmas to the Covenant who were still hiding in the relay station. His voice was steady, his tone determined: it was almost as though nothing had happened. Jorge and Six smiled at each other, and went at it. Reach's Christmas was not white, but it was splattered with blue and purple. Most importantly, it was merry. Although, maybe not for Kat. The End *Check out the video. Carter's response to getting left behind is priceless.
