I just didn't like : it. it struck me as very un-Spartan like. I would have expected him to : stay and lay into them, taking out as many as he could before the thing : blew. Its possible that while WE know he died, it might not be best for a TV Ad to feature someone dying explicitly. While I agree with everything you're saying, they wouldn't be allowed to show Thom ripping the Covies to shreds on TV.
