| Auto-save nightmare | |

In Response To: Re: The million dollar question (General Vagueness) : The result is not the same, if it was we would be asking for any way at all : to have stuff not save. Yeah, that's worth having nightmares over. I've occasionally shuddered at the thought of how things would've been if H1 had auto-saved each checkpoint. The sheer pain this would bring, in trying to set certain things up! And the ease with which your careful work could be lost! And if you wanted to replay a battle which has checkpoints in it or at its conclusion, you'd have to make and use a new copy of your save each time. Arrrgh! With faster and faster consoles, I'm concerned that auto-saving might become the norm (that's if it's not already; I'm not sure as I'm pretty much just a Halo player). Game developers, listen up. Do not auto-save checkpoints! Don't even think about it! You won't be doing us a favour, you'll be doing the exact opposite.
