Not the same. If something unexpected happens and power is lost to your xbox or whatever you will lose those checkpoints. A Save without Quitting option would allow you to save the checkpoint so that if you accidentally lost power you could still load up the checkpoint. !!OR!! More importantly to some here, it would allow you to at least save a checkpoint at a certain scenario and then not have to worry about later checkpoints that might occur as long as they quit without saving (if the option would be added) or just by heading to dashboard. Still. I think the checkpoint system works well for most people most of the time. It'd just be nice to have a little more control.
