: He had attitude, from the very beginning moments of Halo 1 (the pep talk to : the marines in the Autumn, which got especially enjoyable on higher : difficulties). It was a nice contrast to the Master Chief. : Even if people criticize Bungie for not having the best storytelling or : characters, I think that the Halo series would have been just that much : more bland without him. I personally don't think the Halo story is bland, but I was trying to make a point that even people critical of Bungie would be able to agree with.
