In Response To: Re: Dot Code Redux (General Vagueness) : The dimensions seem to be all wrong for any kind of card that was ever : halfway standard for storing binary data. I tried translating/converting : to EBCDIC and mostly got nothing, as in most of the bytes pointed to empty : areas with no character. I tried using the character set traditional de : facto US character set, DOS's codepage 437 but I got a lot of "box : drawing" characters. So nothing from any of those three. I can : confirm Mid7night's first part. I went over the second part and got : µ½_kf*µ*¼Íïâ›k where the first star represents byte 26 (1A hex), : traditionally produced with Ctrl-Z, and the second star represents byte 18 : (12 hex), traditionally produced with Ctrl-R. Yeah, I tried converting the patterns into pianola sheet music, then running it thru an emulator. Sounded like crap. (Seriously). Even tried converting the binary to morse code and it didn't reveal any text at all, just a repeating monotone melody. Hey, could just be a pattern on a wall. -Hedge
