I guess the (or at least one) point of this game is going to be to illustrate how exactly the transition from Elite to Brute occurred. But, given the timeline urk laid out yesterday, it all seems a bit too clean cut. In the announcement trailer we saw that the ODSTers dropped in right as the slipstream event destroyed the city and later in that trailer we saw brutes patrolling the city. Now, we don't know how long our hero ODSTer was out for, and I'm assuming the game's story will explain how those Brutes got there. But doesn't it all seem like it's happening a bit fast? If Regret's death on Nov. 2 (13 days after Regret left) provided Truth the opportunity to enact his Brute for Elite switcharoo, why are Brutes (and only Brutes) patrolling New Mombasa (presumably) hours after Regret left? Yes, urk said that Truth is a careful schemer, and that Regret's ignominious retreat from Earth allowed him to set things in motion, but he must have been incredibly well prepared if his Brutes are able to jump to Earth just hours after that retreat. Further, even if we accept that Truth had the insertion of the Brutes planned way in advance (which is reasonable to accept) I have more trouble believing that every single Elite who might have been in a position to fight the humans before Regret left Earth, totally changed their allegiance within a matter of hours. Or are we to think that every single covenant that was in New Mombasa either died when Regret left, or went with him? Are we seeing, then, a wholesale switch-out of Old-style covies (including Elites) for new, Truth-allied covies in a matter of hours?
