Now we know how long the jump from Earth to Delta Halo took! And we know it takes the Dreadnought about half the time to get back! Though Miranda and Johnson may have arrived back after it arrived, it would all still be totally plausible! BY THE RINGS! Still, pretty disappointed that we won't get to fight Elites. I understand the story reasons for it, and I'm really grateful to Bungie for letting us know this early rather than us all be gutted on release day. However, do you think story reasons are the ONLY reasons behind this? We've seen nothing mentioned so far in any kind of canon about Truth's Brute invasion, and I would've thought that if it was planned to be this way from the beginning, we would have done. In fact, Brutes have been pretty much taking over the Halo fiction since Halo 2. Contact Harvest, Cole Protocol, Uprising and of course Halo 3 all feature Brutes as the bad guys. Maybe the work involved in creating Elite enemy AI behaviours is too great, or something? I would also like to point out that it's stated that the "majority" of ODST's events take place between Oct 20 and Nov 2. So, not all of the events.... hmm....
