Gender and War discussion, possibly? | |

In Response To: Re: Who else thinks the Halo 3: ODST ODST is femal (elpolloguapo) : If you're an elite special forces operative who gets dropped out of orbit to : do close-up, dirty combat with hostile forces, you're not going to have : nicely manicured hands. Frankly, I doubt anyone's going to get anywhere : looking at them for gender. Until we see a face or hear a voice (or, : though I doubt it'll ever happen, hear a real name) the Rookie's gender is : going to be an unknown. But really, does it matter? Well, IF Bungie is trying to say something about gender and war, yes. I remember hearing a discussion about including a 'female death scream' into Halo, and how jarring some people found that. But hey, we all want to be '21st Century' and have women in the military... that means they die, and you hear terrible sounds like that. Can't have your cake and eat it too, so to speak.
