: Its a joyous fictional universe we fell in love with, isn't it. :) : So much uncertainty and questionable info, yet we still manage to come up : with our own ideas and theories and defend them to the hilt. : Y'know, I have a theory that the reason the Story Bible will never be : published is because its really quite a huge mess with things constantly : added, edited and cut rather than any supposed lack of interest. That the : story bible may simply be too... 'broken' for public (or should that be : hardcore fan) consumption. : Or Bungie wouldn't want to trap themselves by releasing so much information : and effectively becoming stuck with it. : Though who knows with Halo becoming more of a Microsoft affair. Its easy to : imagine that Bungie are probably going to have less and less input over : time. I think that's a given. However the real reason not to publish the Bible is that it gives it all away. Part of what makes Halo feel like a fully-realized universe is that like an iceberg, it conceals hidden depths beneath the portion you can see. Throw open the curtains to show the little man pulling the levers and all the mystery would be gone. It'd be ruined. : Anyway, lets face it, we are talking about a potentially huge cash cow. If : there is a market for books like The Art of Halo, the novels or the Halo : Graphic Novel, there sure as hell is one for something far more in-depth. : Look how many essential guides there are, and continue to be, for the Star : Wars universe. All the more reason never to release one. Ever. EVER. : Oh how I would love: Halo - Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels : or : Halo - Essential Guide to the Covenant Isn't Loftus enough?
