In Response To: Re: *SPOILERS FOR CINEMATIC* (scarab) : Seriously, why did they put that stuff in? Is there a story payoff? Or were : they just not thinking? Did they just feel the need to pad the scene out : with some form of dialogue and they added thoses sexist comments because : thats what games usually have? i thought the line in question was forge's character being sexist. lots of people are misogynist. it's not like it's some weird thing for a cliche military guy to have that trait. maybe that's just his character, you know? i'm not sure it's some terrible thing for them to throw it in. in all RTS games, your Hero units have little talks back and forth, especially during missions where you get a bunch of guys and no base building stuff. Ensemble's probably just building a dialogue basis for those conversations. "Lady, i told you not to come down here because i don't want to endanger your fragile womanparts" "stfu army man i am a stereotypical strong woman archetype but i still have giant breasts and will probably wind up soft and moe by the end of the plot" "well that shut me up." ...and i just realized that the entire plot of this thing will be very trite if i'm right. oh well. at least it's pretty. i agree with the rest of your post, though - the elites' posture is a few steps away from the "noble" elites of the original halo series. the gold elite's voice is weird, too. i can't stand his voice.
